Following a 3 month top to toe refurbishment and a temporary relocation across the road whilst the builders were in, Hector’s Bothy is delighted to announce it has commenced trading once again from its premises in the main car park in Kyle. The café has been completely refurbished and now includes seating for nearly 50 people inside and a brand new outdoor seating area with breathtaking views over Loch Alsh for a further 24. Now also fully licensed and offering a contemporary evening menu which seeks to offer local foods wherever possible, the extended premises have opened to fantastic support from both locals and visitors to the area.
Owner Mhairi MacInnes commented “Hector’s Bothy has firmly established itself as a popular choice for eating in Kyle since we opened in 2008. Since then we have struggled to cater with customer demand in our small and outdated premises. With the opening of Hectors 2 Go last year in Main Street ,which freed up space in the building, we finally had the opportunity to make some radical alterations to the Bothy. We are truly delighted with the contemporary look to the refurbished premises which offers a vast improvement in the dining experience for our customers. Dedicated baby changing facilities and full disabled access & toilets are also now something which we are pleased to offer and help us ensure we can offer a pleasant dining experience for all our customers. What remains the same though is our commitment to freshly prepared food, value for money prices and friendly staff. We thought our customers were entitled to eat in contemporarily styled premises without having to pay through the nose for the experience and we think we have achieved that. We truly hope they will love our new look as much as we do".
News update - January 2012
Hector’s 2 Go is delighted to announce that the business will once again feature on the very popular BBC 1 Programme “Homes under the Hammer” on Friday 6th January 2012 at 10am.
The update programme, which follows on from the first edition broadcast last year, showcases the new premises which opened in September to great local support. This is one of the first times that the programme has carried out a second revisit to premises and follows very positive reaction locally and nationally to the first programme.
“We have been so grateful to all our customers both new and old for their support since the new premises opened. The response has been fantastic and we couldn’t be happier. In response to customer feedback we continue to review our menu to make sure that our customers get the best quality and value that we can offer at the best price locally. Following the first programme we had many visitors to the old premises commenting that they had first heard of us from the TV programme and had visited Kyle on the back of the stunning scenery showcased in that programme. We hope that the latest programme will encourage even more to come and visit Kyle of Lochalsh this year.”
The business is also moving forward with its plans to refurbish and expand the existing Hectors Bothy café into the space formerly occupied by the Chip Shop. A planning application has now been submitted and subject to planning the new look café with outdoor seating area should open for trade in time for the 2012 season. Watch this space for further updates!
